We are pleased to share that two representatives of FitnesicKasia Zabratańska and Kasia Paterek — have completed the advanced course “Relacja, integracja, obecność”, dedicated to complex trauma therapy.

The course was a several-month educational process (conducted from September) and constituted an intensive, multidimensional path of professional development. The programme was led by Sabina Sadecka, a recognised expert in the field of trauma work, in cooperation with Alicja Bieda and Agata Tal Olejnik.

The substantive scope of the course included, among others:

  • the definition, sources, specificity and consequences of complex trauma,
  • differences between single-incident trauma, complex trauma and trauma resulting from cumulative violence,
  • issues of absence trauma and parentification,
  • understanding, planning and adapting the therapeutic process when working with people with experience of complex trauma,
  • therapeutic work with shame,
  • techniques for stabilising the nervous system,
  • chronic dissociation in the context of complex trauma,
  • work with syndromes and difficulties resulting from long-term traumatisation.

An integral part of the programme were also lectures and workshops led by invited experts, including:

  • Clara Mucci, who addressed topics such as complex post-traumatic stress disorder, intergenerational transmission of trauma, dissociation, borderline disorders, and therapy through embodiment and witnessing,
  • Josephine O’Gorman, who led sessions focused on therapeutic work with grief,

  • Agata Tal Olejnik, who presented issues of attachment and trauma from a decolonial perspective.

🎓 The formal awarding of diplomas and certificates took place in Poznań and was not only the official conclusion of the course, but also a symbolic celebration of a shared journey, encounter and being together.

Completing this course was an important goal for us — and achieving it represents another step in the consistent development of the Foundation. We believe that the knowledge and skills gained will strengthen the quality of our current work and open space for new initiatives, projects and forms of action.

We feel proud, grateful and deeply convinced that professionalisation, continuous development, and learning from the best specialists are the foundation of the responsible and ethical work we carry out.
