We invite you to read a new article published on the EPALE platform (in Polish), dedicated to microaggressions – subtle, often unconscious forms of discrimination that have a real impact on our everyday relationships and functioning in the workplace.

What are microaggressions?
They are short comments, gestures, or questions that – although seemingly neutral – can reinforce stereotypes, undermine someone’s competence, or lead to exclusion.
Real-life examples such as:
– “You’re surprisingly competent for a woman.”
– “Maybe you’re overreacting, you seem too emotional.”
– “You don’t look like a leader.”
…show how easily – and often unconsciously – someone can be hurt.

📌 The article not only describes what microaggressions are, but also explains why they are so hard to recognize and why they are often dismissed. The authors address common reactions like:
“Now you can’t say anything anymore,” or “It was just a joke” – and explain why it’s worth challenging these responses.

🧩 This text is a valuable resource for anyone who wants to build conscious, supportive, and equitable communication – both in the workplace and in social relationships.

Let this be an invitation to reflect, talk, and create change.

Microaggressions are not just a “trendy word” – they are a real issue we can (and should) address.
