We are pleased to share that we appeared on the programme “Miłego popołudnia” broadcast on TVP3 Lublin.

The guests included Dr. Kasia Zabratańska, a certified WenDo trainer, and Patrycja Radkowiak-Gąsiorowicz, a workshop participant. It was important and symbolic for us that we could speak together — from both the trainer’s and the participant’s perspectives — about what WenDo is and how it genuinely impacts the lives of women and girls.

What is WenDo?

WenDo is a method of empowering women and girls through the integration of assertiveness and self-defence. It involves working with both the body and the mind — developing courage, agency, and the ability to respond in situations of threat.

During the conversation, we explained that the workshops include, among other elements:

  • physical techniques — simple and effective strikes based on the element of surprise, palm strikes, and kicks that help destabilise an attacker,
  • voice work — using the voice as a tool of protection, breathing exercises, and strengthening communication,
  • situational analysis — learning to recognise risk and make quick, adequate decisions,
  • building an assertive stance — identifying personal boundaries, setting goals, communicating consistently, and developing decision-making skills.

WenDo is about working with one’s own resources — both physical and psychological. It is not a method that teaches fighting; it teaches responding. It reinforces the idea that we have the right to safety — and that we can actively claim it.

A Participant’s Perspective

During the programme, Patrycja Radkowiak-Gąsiorowicz shared her personal experience. First, her daughter attended the workshops. Later, inspired by her daughter’s experience, she decided to participate herself.

She emphasised that WenDo workshops:

  • build a sense of agency,
  • help break through the barrier of indifference,
  • take place in an atmosphere of women’s solidarity and support,
  • create a space of sisterhood — without competition, but with attentiveness and mutual empowerment.

For us, it is especially meaningful to hear that WenDo truly changes the way women think about themselves and their strength.

Why Is This Important to Us?

We are proud to have had the opportunity to speak about WenDo on television. Promoting this method is more than a single media appearance — it is part of building a conscious, supportive community around our foundation.

We believe that WenDo is an effective, well-established, and deeply needed method of work. Every such invitation is an opportunity to reach more women and girls who want to strengthen their self-confidence, learn assertiveness, and gain practical self-defence tools.

We will soon be organising additional WenDo workshops in various parts of Poland. We encourage you to follow our updates and join our community.

We would like to thank the programme team for the invitation and for the opportunity to speak about such an important topic.
